WORKS WITH ANY ROUND STEEL POST

Need An Additional Stay?

Whether you’re building a corner assembly , adding a second stay to an end assembly kit, or using your own posts the MultiStay Kit gets the job sorted. Strong, permanent, no welding needed.

Corner Assemblies

Building a corner? Each side needs a stay. With the MultiStay Kit, you can have a full corner assembly done in under 20 minutes — 5 minutes per side plus your post. Works great with any Rotech Rural Steel End Assembly, or with any 80NB or 100NB round steel post.

With Your Own Posts

Already have 80 or 100NB steel posts? The Steel Post Stay Kit works great to add a stay to your posts with no welding, for a fast and permanent strainer.

NO WELDING. ONE TOOL. DONE.

Install in 5 Minutes Each Side.

Each stay bolts on in about 5 minutes with a single 19mm spanner. No welding, no drilling, no special tools. A full corner assembly takes less than 20 minutes including tensioning. That’s faster than getting a welder warmed up!

Install With One Tool

No welder, no grinder, no fire risk. A 19mm spanner is all you need.

  • No welding or grinding — safe during total fire bans
  • One tool does the entire job: 19mm socket or spanner
  • Full corner assembly (both sides) in under 20 minutes
  • Strong, permanent stay

Engineered Ground Anchorage

8x More Ground Anchorage Than a Regular Post

When it comes to end assemblies, what’s in the ground matters most. A regular round post holds on friction alone, so the moment the soil gets wet or starts to shift, the post shifts with it. Every premium Steel Post Stay Kit includes a pair of LokDown Lugs to anchor that post mechanically, so it stays put.

HOW LOKDOWN LUGS WORK

Your premium kit comes with a pair of LokDown Lugs. They screw straight onto your round steel strainer post with the supplied tek screws, on a new post before it’s set or retrofitted to one that’s already in the ground. Once they’re on, drive a star picket down through each lug and into the ground at 45 degrees. Half-length pickets suit standard ground; full-length pickets give you the most hold. Those angled pickets work like underground anchors. They lock the post against pull-out and twisting, and hold it steady when the ground tries to shift it sideways. It works in any soil type, from soft sand and black soil through to rock.

  1. LokDown Lugs screw onto your round steel strainer post with the supplied tek screws.
  2. Set them at the right height, on a new post or one already in the ground.
  3. Drive a star picket through each lug and into the ground at 45°.
  4. The angled pickets anchor the post so it holds firm and won’t lift.

Running the standard kit, or want the same hold on your other posts? LokDown Lugs are sold separately and screw on any post at the same 45-degree angle.

WHY IT HOLDS WHEN OTHERS LET GO

Standard round post

Relies on friction alone. When the soil gets wet or loosens, the post moves with it.

Concrete-in post

Rigid until the ground gets wet. In reactive soil the water can push the concrete footing up, and once it starts to lift the post moves with it.

LokDown Lug system

Anchors the post mechanically with angled pickets underground, so it stays where you put it.

Designed to Absorb Ground Movement

Why a Floating Footplate?

The end assembly is the backbone of your fence, so the strainer post should be the only part that’s fixed. Everything else needs to move with the ground.

The Steel Post Stay Kit’s footplate floats on top of the ground, unpinned, working together with the tension cable that runs from the top of the strainer post down to the base of the stay. That cable carries as much as two-thirds of the fence load, so the footplate isn’t left to sink, and the weight goes where your anchorage is strongest, at the base of the strainer. Because the cable is adjustable, you can re-tension the fence as conditions change instead of fighting them.

  • Footplate won’t sink, the cable carries most of the load
  • Load transfers to the base of the strainer post, where anchorage is strongest
  • Re-tension any time as the ground moves

THE FULL DETAILS

About the Steel Post Stay Kits

What's in the Kit

Each Steel Post Stay Kit includes everything you need to add a stay to an existing round steel strainer post: stay connector, clamp connector, tongue, footplate, and tension assembly. Premium kits also include a stainless steel eye bolt for maximum corrosion resistance, plus a pair of LokDown Lugs with tek screws.

Works With Any Round Steel Post

The MultiStay Kit is designed to fit 80NB and 100NB round steel posts — whether they're Rotech Rural Drive-Tight posts, Machine Drivable posts, Concrete-In posts, or any other brand of round steel post.

Corner Assemblies in Under 20 Minutes

If you're looking for an easy and quick-to-install corner assembly, the MultiStay Kit is the answer. Each stay bolts on in about 5 minutes with nothing but a 19mm spanner — so a full corner assembly (both sides) takes less than 20 minutes. That can save you hours compared to welding or building timber assemblies.

All components are made from steel and are either hot-dipped galvanised, or stainless steel. That means they're termite proof, fire resistant, and built to last decades in Australian conditions.

Stay Size Options

You can choose between a 40NB stay (48mm O.D — best suited for smaller strains and general purpose use) or a 50NB heavy-duty stay (60mm O.D — for higher strain applications). Both are 3250mm (11') long with 2.3mm wall thickness.

Stainless Steel Eyebolt Option

The stainless steel eyebolt upgrade makes this the most corrosion-resistant stay kit in the range. Ideal for coastal properties or anywhere salt air is a factor. The upgrade costs less than $5 per assembly.

Floating Footplate & Tension Cable

The stay kit includes a floating footplate and tension cable system. The footplate sits unpinned on top of the ground, while the tension cable transfers the fence load to the base of the strainer post. This system prevents the footplate from sinking, reduces post pull-out, and allows the tension to be adjusted over time — something that isn't possible with welded, concreted, or timber stay assemblies.

LokDown Lugs (Now Included)

All premium Steel Post Stay Kits now include a pair of patent-protected LokDown Lugs and 7 tek screws. These screw onto your strainer post to deliver 8 times more ground anchorage than a regular post. They're also available separately .
